Summary: Something unexpected from Uncle John!
Comment: Well, this sure is a surprise!
If you are a fan of the wonderful Uncle John's series of readers, this one featuring tales to amaze and inspire will really delight you. Can ordinary people do spectacularly extraordinary things to overcome adversity or lift the spirits of others? How about a differently-abled man with an artificial leg who ran a marathon for 143 days? How about a doctor in India who ultimately saved the lives of millions of people with his invention of a simple toilet? (Certainly a perfect story for this volume!)
Not all heroes are touching the lives of millions, but their stories are amazing none the less. There is a city bus driver who conducts sing-along's with his passengers! Local heroes, animal heroes, tales to touch your heart are all here, and you will love every one.

Summary: Uncle John & Co. Deliver Some Heartwarming Tales!
Comment: Well, here's an appealing departure from the usual "Uncle John Bathroom Reader" fact books, a volume devoted to individuals who made a difference. The book's back cover claims this is a very special book and truer words were never spoken.
Within the book's 285 pages are sections on individuals - including a surprising number of children and teens - who saw problems big and small and took action to solve them, amazing survival stories, tales of individuals who were failures early in life before becoming successes in later years, individuals with physical and mental handicaps that nevertheless triumphed over their handicaps, inspiring quotations, random acts of kindness that sometimes had unexpected consequences, people who inspired others, inventors and writers who perservered despite countless rejections before achieving success and so on.
"Tales to Inspire" is a sometimes amazing but always heartwarming celebration of the human spirit. If you are one of those who believe a lone individual can't make a difference or that people can't rise above adversity, you need to read this book!
